Going down was unforgettable. At first, it's a shadow in the distance, and then the wreck came into view. It is huge. It's now a bustling artificial reef, draped in corals and teeming with fish. We saw big groupers peeking from the hull, and schools of fusiliers hiding in the superstructure. The feeling of swimming next to this giant, silent vessel is hard to describe—haunting, awe-inspiring, and humbling at the same time. It's a piece of history under the water.
